Christmas 2018 Newsletter

As 2018 draws to a close, we wanted to wish all our friends, clients and associates a very Merry Christmas and all our good wishes for the festive season.

We thought we’d take this opportunity to share with you what we’ve been up to since the Summer…

JASS Scheme

The Junior Award Scheme for Schools (JASS) Scheme is a new initiative that is aimed at pupils aged 5 – 13 years old and is currently being piloted at Montreal Primary School, Cleator Moor. It’s aim is to assist in the development of interpersonal, communication and problems solving skills in the form of teamwork.

Prima Uno has joined 3 other companies; NSG, Phoenix Enterprise Centre and Cleator Moor Celtic Football Club in sponsoring the pilot scheme and are supporting the ‘Me and My World’ section of the scheme which gives insight into the different organisations and opportunities available to the pupils.

It is hoped the scheme will build well being and self-confidence in formal education whilst at the same time raising awareness of opportunities and aspirations. Next year there is an activity day for the ‘Adventure’ part of the challenge so more about that as it happens!

Awards Time!

November is traditionally awards season and this year we were finalists for two awards; In-Cumbria Magazine Best Professional Service, which was awarded to Cartmell Shepherd (Prima Uno were highly commended) and we were also shortlisted for the Britains Energy Coast Business Cluster, Best Business Award which was awarded to TSP Engineering. Prima Uno were proud to sponsor the Growing Business Award which was won by PaR Systems so big congratulations to them!

New Accreditations!

November was such a busy month for us and was topped off by us achieving Axelos Consulting Partner status!!

Axelos Google

What does this mean for us at Prima Uno?  Well, for us it is a very significant milestone for the business as it demonstrates our expertise and capability as an organisation. We have successfully expanded into a multi-discipline organisation that, not only specialises in Project Controls, but also offers exceptional Portfolio, Programme & Project Management related services.

What does this mean for you and our clients?  Our Axelos Consulting Partner status gives you the confidence of knowing that Prima Uno works to Global Best Practice standards which are designed to help organisations become more effective across a range of key business capabilities including Project, Programme and IT Service Management.

As well as our Axelos accreditation, we were also approved as an Achilles Supplier. We are now registered on their Utility Vendor Database which means we can supply most of the UK Utility organisations. Passing this stringent certification process means that our customers can be assured that we adhere to best practice benchmarks.

September 2018 saw us gaining our ISO 44001 full accreditation and in October, we ran a workshop which was free to BECBC members (Britain’s Energy Coast Business Cluster). We explained how we approached and achieved the accreditation and how we can help other organisations achieve the same; in fact, we have already assisted one local company achieve the same accreditation. If this is something that is of interest to you, please get in touch; we will be only too happy to discuss.

Events and Exhibitions

In October, we attended the NDA Supply Chain Event at Media City, Manchester. With over 1900 attendees, this is the biggest networking event of it’s kind in Europe. We had a great day networking with existing and potential new clients; spreading the news about our award winning professional services. We are looking forward to being back there in 2019!

October was also the month of the BECBC Business Support Group showcase. Over 330 people attended with speakers such as Rt Hon Hazel Blears and Tim Farron MP. Again, this gave Prima Uno the opportunity to showcase our award winning products and professional services.

In November, Sarah and Cheryl also attended the Project Controls Expo exhibition at the Emirates Stadium in Arsenal. Project Controls Expo is the largest international Project Controls event featuring international speakers, technical presentations and Megaproject sessions. Over 1000 people attended with representatives from various sectors such as oil and gas, construction, defence, nuclear and Government.

Business Admin Apprentice

Our Business Admin apprentice joined us in October from Gen2 and Lydia is growing into her role as well as developing her skills. We continue to support her through on the job tasks and with her college assignments which she needs to pass as part of her Business Admin level 2 qualification.

Lydia has been assisting Prima Uno with our sponsorship of the JASS Scheme.

Sarah’s Summary

Finally, some last words from Prima Uno Managing Director, Sarah Purdham…

“2018 has been a wonderful year for Prima Uno with us significantly strengthening our Lead Management Infrastructure; as we have grown, we have needed to strengthen our lead team. We have also achieved all of our Business objectives, including two huge ones; gaining ISO 44001 and our Axelos Consulting Partner status. I feel like we are really maturing as an organisation and none of this would be possible without the wonderful people that work at Prima Uno. Every single person has a role to play and helps us grow. I am very lucky and privileged to have such exceptional people to work with.

Best wishes for the New Year and have a lovely Christmas break. Thank you for all your help and support.”
