Hello from Prima Uno
Hope you are having a decent summer so far. We certainly have not had the weather.
We are pleased to see our team continuously growing as we have welcomed a few new members of staff in the last few months and have teamed up with new companies to form partnerships and joint ventures.
There has been a halt in planned procurements due to the General Elections in the UK on 4th July and we are expecting these will all come out in September. Prima Uno will be targeting a number of long-term project controls, project delivery and nuclear decommissioning framework contracts.
Elections will also have an effect on Prima Uno and other companies and we expect some important employment law changes from the new government. We are monitoring these changes and will reflect them in our policies and contracts in line with the changing legislation.
Elections do not have an impact on the business as usual. All of our present and future contracts are long term and are there to serve a requirement.
All our current contracts are going well and we continue working with NWS, Sellafield Limited, Dounreay, UKAEA Fusion and NTS. We are still supporting our Tier 2 clients and partners such as Mott Macdonald, Amentum, NIS among others with their projects across the UK.
We have no risks to our current work, and we are expecting to have our busiest autumn and winter in our history. We will be employing new members to our growing team as the year goes on.
New projects
We have a pipeline of long-term framework contracts and an exciting future with new sectors, growth areas and partnerships. Prima Uno is awaiting the results of two major nuclear decommissioning and infrastructure framework contracts which work will start in 2025. Both are fifteen-year frameworks.
Prima Uno will be targeting several multisector procurements scheduled to commence in September. These vary from Utilities, Transport, Nuclear Decommissioning, Infrastructure, clean energy and assurance.
We hope to move offices in 2025 but our current priority is to focus on the tenders.
2025 will see the opening of the project controls and project management centre of excellence and training establishment for Prima Uno project controls and project management trainees. Prima Uno will be inviting partners to support us with this.

Compliance and Certificates
We have had a busy summer so far and are delighted to share that our continued certification has been agreed following on from our ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Systems surveillance audit in June as well as Cyber Essentials and Cyber Essentials Plus audit in July.

Events
In recent months, we have actively participated in industry events, despite challenges such as cancellations due to the elections. Many of these events have been rescheduled for later dates – the NDA Supply Chain Event will be taking place in January 2025 and we are looking forward to it. We attended the BECBC monthly meetings and the Meet the Buyer Scotland in Glasgow, which provided us with opportunity to explore new avenues.
Our presence at the MissionCX Career Fair at Westlakes Science & Technology Park was particularly successful, enabling us to connect with talented individuals eager to join our team!
Apprenticeships and Work Experience
Our team member Lydia completed her Data Analysis apprenticeship on Friday 7th June. The date to be remembered and we are all pleased that she has passed it after 4 years with all the setbacks that she encountered. Congratulations and massive well done!
We also had a student from West Lakes Academy joining our team for work experience week in July enabling Ellie a little insight into our office life and business administration. We hope that she found it interesting and we wish her a wonderful summer break!
