Summer 2025 Newsletter

We can hardly believe it ourselves, but the summer holidays are already in full swing — and somehow, it’s mid-August! It’s been an amazing season so far, filled with plenty of sunshine and perfect weather to enjoy the great outdoors. As we write this, the UK is basking in yet another heatwave, making this one of the warmest summers in recent memory.

Whether you have already been away, are looking forward to your holidays or are staying closer to home this year, we hope that you have been enjoying the lovely weather, those fantastic long warm evenings and delicious BBQs 😊

As every year, summertime is rather busy for Our Team, and we have been working tirelessly to gain new contracts and push into new sectors which we are very excited about! We have been entering new partnerships and developing some relationships to strengthen our bid team in preparation for some exciting tenders coming out soon.

We have been working on improving our internal systems and implementing new solutions to suit Company’s needs and continuous growth. Work smart, not hard!

We have revitalised Prima Uno’s Values, focusing on the principles we collectively support and feel most passionate about:

We are a bunch of committed and enthusiastic people who really enjoy our jobs and like working together providing the best service whilst having some good times!

We have also updated our Social Value plan in line with the Government’s Procurement Policy Note 002 – The PPN002 Social Value Model.

We’re actively exploring ways to support individuals who face the greatest barriers to employment, including underrepresented groups such as NEETs (Not in Education, Employment or Training), care leavers, disabled individuals, carers, and prison leavers. With a recognised skills shortage in Project Controls, we’re developing an exciting project that align with the Government’s Social Value priorities. We’ll be sharing more details soon – watch this space!

In June and July, we successfully completed a series of external audits. Our continued certification has been confirmed following the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Systems surveillance audit and the Cyber Essentials Plus audit.

We have recently welcomed new colleagues to Prima Uno. Our team is continuing to grow, and we’re still recruiting talented Planners and Cost Engineers to support our long-term projects. We are always looking for skilled and passionate about delivering excellence Project Controls people so do not hesitate to contact us if you want to be part of a dynamic and forward-thinking company – info@primauno.co.uk

It’s never easy to say goodbye to a colleague who’s been such a valued part of the Prima Uno family, but last week we waved off our long-time teammate and friend, Jonny Pearce. Jonny is heading on to pastures new, and although we are very sad to see him go, we wish him every success in his new role. Sarah Purdham, Prima Uno Managing Director – “Jonny, thank you from the bottom of my heart for the hard work that you have done for me and Prima Uno over the years it has been greatly appreciated.”

Events

We have recently attended some fantastic events such as Women in Nuclear UK Global Conference in London celebrating opportunities the nuclear sector offers to women all over the world and we also attended the Gala Dinner by invitation of our friends at Arcadis.

The Civil Nuclear Industry Supply Chain Security Assurance event in Warrington was very informative and we are glad to have been invited as it is paramount to know how to manage risks and be aware of modern security threats amongst other topics raised that day

We took part in the MissionCX Work Insights and Careers fair 2025 attended by 150 students at Westlakes Science & Technology Park. It is always exciting to be able to share our passion about world of project controls with young and enthusiastic people.

Emma-Jayne Gooch, our Strategy & Growth Director, continues to play a leading role in shaping the future of the nuclear industry as Chair of the BECBC Nuclear Sector Group. Over the past six months, Emma-Jayne and the BECBC team have successfully organised and hosted two dynamic sector meetings, each drawing over 85 attendees.

In May, the event in Warrington featured insightful presentations from AWE and the Nuclear Submarines programme, with a focus on exploring new market opportunities. The evening concluded with the NI North West Dinner, where we were honoured to attend as guests of our valued partners at Morson Projects.

July’s event took place at CORE Nuclear Solutions in Workington, spotlighting supply chain opportunities and offering structured networking to foster meaningful connections across the sector.

We also joined the ISH (Industrial Solutions Hub) Networking Event to learn more about their collaboration with Sellafield and their efforts to unite local SMEs and harness regional expertise.

Earlier this month, we attended the BECBC Energy Networx event in Penrith, where we gained valuable insights into “The Cumberland Plan.” The initiative is focused on supporting businesses while tackling inequalities in education and employment, especially in disadvantaged communities, and improving health and wellbeing through access to meaningful work.

We hope the rest of your summer is just as fantastic – full of sunshine, good moments, interesting events and maybe the occasional ice cream emergency.
